COMET Optical 3D Scanner
COMET Optical 3D Scanner, Germnay
COMET 5 Optical 3-dimensional Scanner is developed from Steinbichler, Germany. By adopting optical gating principle, white light and high resolution camera, it captures high accurate surface data without touching the work piece.3D physical surfaces are then turned into point cloud data in a computer. This technology is widely used in Reverse Engineering and Rapid Prototyping for product development. Alternatively it can be employed in inspection by comparing the actual product with standard data, for instance the CAD model. The system with its incomparable high scanning speed (1.4-11 million points captured in one second) can be integrated with a robotic arm to execute automatic in-process inspection so as to reinforce product quality control.
Flexible scanning area is virtually capable to work on object of all realistic dimensions. With Photogrammetry framing system, it could work on big object such as submarine, airplane, etc.
-measuring accuracy: >0.005mm
-adjustable scanning area for a single picture
-various merging strategies available
-mobile nature for application in different physical locations
-customized software adopted for measurement and output of STL, IGES, AC, VDA-FS, ASCII, NC-ASCII formats.
